Pulse Oximetry

Postby Admin 1 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 9:15 am

I was wondering if it would be worth providing an educational article on the Society website on the subject above? I was given permission some years ago by a very large Chinese manufacturer of Medical Equipment to extract from their service manual a very interesting description of Oximetry and the comparisons between Nellcor and Masimo techniques as long as reference was made to it's source.

What other topics would Biomeds out there want to read? Ideas, suggestions?

Terry,
I would like to know how test equipment manufacturers determine the"o" curves used in NIBP simulators. We have two Regel NIBP sims and obtaine a set of instructions on how to make up ones own curves or data. The instructions are so confusing and don't have an obvious place to start the process or how to determine what data to collect etc to make up a "curve". Has anyone actually created these curves themselves.
Keith
